1. Powder or extract
Bulk ube comes in two kinds. 100% ube powder is the dried, milled tuber. That means one ingredient on your label, and you dose around 10% of the dry weight. Ube extract is concentrated and contains a carrier; ours is 20:1 with 10% chicory root fibre. You dose 1 to 4% and get a lot of colour from little powder.
Ask every supplier for the composition in writing. Ube flavour powder or purple yam powder can also be a blend with sugar, starch or colouring, or purple sweet potato instead of ube. If your label needs to say organic, ask for the EU organic certificate. Our 100% ube powder is also available organic.
2. Minimum order and packaging
Most suppliers work with boxes or bags of 10 to 25 kg and a minimum of one or two units. Ask how it is packed too. A box with a resealable inner bag works differently in a kitchen than a big bag on a pallet.
Our 100% ube powder comes in 20 kg boxes with a sealed inner bag, and extract in 10 kg boxes. If you want to start smaller, there are 1 kg bags.
3. Price per kilo
Always compare per kilo, and ask from which volume a lower price applies. Our prices are simply online:
- Extract, 10 kg: €62 per kg
- 20 kg: €60 per kg
- 60 kg: €55 per kg
- 100 kg: €50 per kg
- From 200 kg a year: custom price
All bulk prices exclude VAT and shipping.
Powder and extract cost the same per kilo with us. Because you dose extract lower, it often works out cheaper per finished product. If you want only ube on your label, choose the powder.
4. Documents
A good supplier sends you a product specification, a certificate of analysis per batch and the producer's certificates without any fuss. You need them for your own HACCP plan and for customers who ask.
Look at the supplier as well. Since October 2026 we have been certified to IFS Broker at Higher Level, the GFSI-recognised standard for companies that source and supply food. We have every batch of 100% ube powder tested by Eurofins, including for synthetic dyes. You can download the specification and the certificate of analysis on our bulk page.
5. Stock and lead time
Ube is popular, and not every supplier always has it. Ask where the stock is and how fast it ships. We keep ube in stock in the Netherlands. If your size is in stock, we usually ship within 1 to 2 working days. A pallet is planned together with you. We deliver across Europe and beyond.
6. Start with a sample
Always test ube in your own recipe. Look at the colour in your latte or batter, the taste and how it dissolves. You can request a sample on our bulk page.
